We tried the Ingersoll Tap for the first time last weekend. It was decent, but at the end of the day there's nothing about this new bar that would persuade me to go here rather than a dozen other nearby spots. To start, I was pretty pleased with their beer selection. They had a couple of decent sounding specialty cocktails, but I was excited to see their tap selection included a New Belgium salted chocolate stout which I'd wanted to try. Awesome!! It was tasty, and I think my friends all enjoyed their drinks too. Unfortunately the atmosphere does leave a lot to be desired. There are church pews shoved along one wall and long bar-height tables and stools in the middle. The walls are pastel green and bare, except for three pieces of possible art (I honestly couldn't tell if it was art or soundproofing panels). The rest of the walls are blank, and there's a drop ceiling. It kind of looks like a bar set up shop in your church's rec room. The real problem with the atmosphere is, however, the noise. It's been mentioned in every other review I've read about this bar, and it's still a problem. They have soundproofing panels hung from the ceiling, but they have the music turned up SO LOUD they may as well have saved their money and forgone the soundproofing entirely. It's not a dance club, so I'm really not sure why they don't want people to be able to hold conversations. I don't understand what kind of vibe they are going for, and it just got really irritating to shout to be heard at what is ostensibly a hang-out-with-your-friends-and-drink-beer type of bar. The place was fairly busy on a Saturday night, but empty enough we could manage to snag a couple of big tables. I think this bar will do well in warm weather with their large patio, but I sure hope they manage to work out the sound issue indoors.

You'd expect with a name like "Ingersoll Tap" that this place would offer an exceptional assortment of beers on, well, tap! I can see it now... walk in and there you will see a wall of taps with every beer you can think of and many you haven't but are eager to try... OMG am I so ready for this experience -- aren't you? Enter reality! When you walk into Ingersoll Tap, you learn quickly that this place is just a bar and nothing more. Their assortment is limited (to say the least); you will find a wider variety of beer at Price Choppers or a smaller grocery store. There is nothing special about this place or the choices they offer. Plus, if you factor the $5.00 per beer price tag (this is not a major city, so $5 is ridiculous for a 312 Wheat Ale beer). So I am glad I went to the new Ingersoll Tap, so that I know what I am NOT missing. Step it up guys before it is too late.

I'm not usually one to post such a negative review, but after my experience I think it's important. Last night a group of friends and I went to Ingersoll Tap after a dinner and found plenty of places to sit, which was great. You can also play your own music which is a plus. I've been there multiple times and it was normally a good place to hang out. Last night there was a bartender (apparently on her last employed shift) who talked for 5 minutes to *every* person who ordered a drink, which left me waiting for long periods of time, feeling very ignored. She was giving everyone a "deal" as far as I could tell as well - my beers were $2 cheaper than usual. Anyway, I ordered 2 shots of patron after finishing my beer and the bartender strained them through her hand. That's right, no lid, through the fingers, gross! She then forgot about me paying so I took the gross shots to someone in my group I know would take them and reordered them hands-free through another bartender. They all tasted like water to add insult to injury. Anyway, she is apparently not working there any longer, great. But all the staff got pretty upset when we brought up that the shots tasted like water. And it's not that my drunk taste buds couldn't tell, I had only had one drink prior. Pretty unacceptable - we know what Patron tastes like.

I'm happy there's a new bar on Ingersoll! Was in there yesterday and had a great $5 bloody mary made w Guinness. My only complaint is the music was so loud you could barely have a conversation.

Well, always love a new local bar opening! This one might still be working out the kinks a little bit, and I'm not talking about Ray and Dave Davies... Kinks! The space is pretty cool, a nice long bar, with local brews on tap as well as your standards.. The walls a pretty bare right now, but heck it just opened it's doors not to long ago so will give them some time on decor! There is a nice covered patio out front for outdoor seating.. But we went on a lovely day so it was full, not a ton of seating out doors! Maybe 12 chairs, but space none the less! We ordered only one beer, at pretty normal Des Moines prices. The reason we did not stay long was, it was so loud in there! I mean I love rock n roll so much, but this was at ear socket rocket level and there was no way anyone could carry on a conversation.. And this was a Friday at like 6pm.. I hope they get a little sound proofing figured out or hey just turn it down a bit! I would love to have another go to bar in the Ingersoll area with a patio... I will give them another try at some point! But I might bring my ear plugs just in case!

Was my first time here. It's got some kinks but I think will work out with time. It is a newer bar and it's nice to have a change in the area. It felt like I was yelling in a gymnasium the volume was so loud! Constant turning down and up the music which made it louder. Good drinks and a fun time, just not the place to be on a super crowded night unless you're wearing ear plugs !

As I sit here, I smell sewage. The bathroom smell takes over the bar. No, it's not a small interesting spot like you'd expect on Ingersol. It's a big square room with cheap bar tables and about 2% character. Bar staff is attentive, thankfully. If you're looking for an interesting place to have a drink, this isn't it.

On an impulse, my spouse and I decided a short nip and a little nibble would celebrate the lovely weather we still have as we move toward...wait for it.... Winter. It was a beautiful late fall day and we decided too check out the newest bar on Ingersoll prior to a dinner of reheated left overs at home. Well, I was disappointed. The bar was almost empty as we entered, and by the time we left, 45 minutes later, it was empty. Aside from the "funky" list of mixed drinks., nothing is special here. A few beers on tap, no wine list, AND NOTHING (not even bar nuts) TO EAT! The outdoor seating on this beautiful day was dusty and empty. One patron came out to smoke. The indoor seating wasn't better, long high topped tables that reminded me of a empty high school cafeteria.

Decent drinks but it's so loud you can't talk to anyone without losing you voice. Others have confirmed that this is a common problem every time they have gone there. Probably won't go back.

I think this is a fun new place over on Ingersoll. It seems to be picking up more and more of a crowd, despite it still being the frigid winter. The trivia nights have been fun on Thursdays. I definitely like the people working there, very helpful and genuine. I have been going here quite a bit recently. The interior is nice and has a cool sort of warehouse feel. There is lots of space to bring your friends. They also have a lot of nice nightly specials.
